Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, shall, on Saturday, 6th October, 2018 play host to the much-talked-about Igarra People’s Concert.

In a telephone chat, recently, with AfemaiToday, the chief convener of the event, Mr. Felix Adetayo, a renowned Igarra’s musical ambassador said that the event was meant to deepen the rich culture of Igarra, the ancient town underlying Kukuruku Hills in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Edo State, South-South Nigeria.

According to him, “Our culture is unique and as a responsible generation, it is our responsibility to do all we can within our capacity to take it to the next level of recognition all around the world.”

Pegging the dress code at the event to itowoji, Igarra’s rich cultural attire, the grandson of late Igarra’s popular Okudushi music maestro, Kekere Anawureyi added, “Our fathers have done their own bit by working assiduously to sustain our rich culture which, today, we all are alive to enjoy. It is, therefore, a gross error on our part if we fold our arms to see it nose-diving and going into extinction.”

The historic event which holds at Kwalica Garden, Behind Pedestrian Bridge, Area 1, Abuja shall receive massive media coverage. It shall features Agada beat, Adejo Ofu Okonga and a host of other Igarra cultural dance groups from Igarra.

He, therefore, appealed to all well-meaning sons and daughters of Igarra, both at home and in the diaspora, to turn out en masse to support this laudable cause for the overall progress and development of Igarra.
